On October 6-7, 2001 two eminent teachers from Buddhism and Christianity,
Sogyal Rinpoche and Father
Laurence Freeman, led a ground-breaking conference at Dublin Castle
in Ireland entitled "Finding Compassion in our Changing World."
Three hundred people from Christian, Buddhist and other faiths
attended the event which explored the common ground of our spiritual
paths. The weekend came to an inspiring conclusion with a Mass
celebrated by Father Laurence and a Tsok, or traditional Buddhist
offering practice, presided over by Sogyal Rinpoche. The theme of
compassion was particularly relevant in the wake of the September 11
tragedy in America.
