Sukhavati Spiritual Care Centre in Germany
There are no translations available.

Inspired by the teachings and vision of Sogyal Rinpoche, Germany's first Spiritual Care Centre, "Sukhavati", will open its doors in Bad Saarow in the summer of 2013. Sogyal Rinpoche is the author of The Tibetan Book of  Living and Dying. Since its publication in 1992, more than two million copies have been published in 56 countries and 31 languages. By now, Sogyal Rinpoche is respected as one of the best-known Buddhist teachers of our time.

The Tibetan Buddhist teachings present a vast, all-encompassing vision of life and death, based on centuries of philosophical investigation, contemplation and meditative experience. This ancient body of wisdom - a profound, inner science of the mind - has much to offer the world and is increasingly revered by scientists, doctors, psychologists and medical staff alike, especially those working in the modern health care system.

In 2008, Rigpa Germany received a generous donation with the request to establish a Spiritual Care Centre based on the example of Dechen Shying in Ireland. After searching thoroughly for a location, Germany`s first Spiritual Care Centre will be built in Bad Saarow, a long-established spa resort situated to the south-east of Berlin. The goal of the centre will be to put into practice the essence of the Buddhist wisdom of Tibet.
