Sogyal Rinpoche's book
The
Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, published in
1992, is widely regarded as one of the most complete and authoritative
presentations of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings ever written. It has
demonstrated how these teachings can be at one and the same time
accessible to everyone, and yet totally authentic and faithful to the
tradition.
Acclaimed by people of all ages and backgrounds, as well as
by Buddhist practitioners, Rinpoche's book has been adopted for use in
courses, workshops, and retreats
by a variety of groups and disciplines, therapeutic and spiritual. Many
readers have remarked on how it carries all the immediacy and force of
an oral teaching, and how, with repeated study and reflection, deeper
meanings are continually revealed.
Since its publication in 1992, more than a million copies have been
sold worldwide. As well as the English language editions in the
UK, USA, Australia and India, translations have so far been undertaken
in German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese,
Swedish, Danish, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Polish, Czech, Norwegian, Finnish,
Romanian, Korean, Brazilian, Hebrew, Russian and Tibetan.
