An Online Intensive designed for professionals and volunteers serving patients at the end of life and their families

Led by Dr. Ann Allegre, MD; Dr. Angela Anderson, MD; Kirsten DeLeo, author of Present Through The End; John Douglas; Youske Eto, LCSW; and other Authentic Presence faculty from around the world.

Join us to explore the healing power of presence in a professional capacity. This Intensive will offer space to experience and learn grounding compassion practices and meditation methods to stay resilient during this challenging time and to connect with a like-minded global community.

The intensive includes

  • Four live 2-hour sessions on weekend days
    Sunday, Sep. 27
    Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3rd and Oct. 4th
    Saturday, Oct. 10th
    10 am–12 noon PST / 1pm–3pm EST / 6pm–8pm Irish/UK/ 7pm–9pm European
  • Two live 75-minute sessions mid-week in regional groups
    Wednesday evenings, Sept. 30th and Oct. 7th, 7pm regional time
  • Recorded practices to deepen your meditation at home
  • Online discussion forum
  • Opportunity for individual support from the faculty

Objectives

  1. Deepen capacity to be authentically and compassionately present at the bedside
  2. Learn contemplative practices for building resilience and addressing the stresses of clinical work in today’s challenging environment
  3. Support healing, self-compassion and connection through contemplative practice and being in community
  4. Know how to transform end of life care into a spiritual practice

CE Contact Hours

Approved for 10 continuing education contact hours by the Association of Professional Chaplains and by the California Board of Registered Nursing, and counts toward the CE requirements for ADEC's CT and FT program.

Certificate in Contemplative End-of-Life Care

Due to the pandemic and ongoing travel and meeting restrictions, this online intensive will be considered to fulfill the Immersion module requirement for our professional Certificate in Contemplative End-of-Life Care.
